Gary Puckett’s guitar

MMPA NAMM

Tom Oetinger of Louisville, KY is an avid Heritage guitar collector and an admirer of their high-level craftsmanship. “I grew up in the ’60s and loved just about all the great music of that era. Gary Puckett & the Union Gap was one of my favorites. Songs Like ‘Young Girl’ and ‘Woman, Woman,’ were songs suited to adolescent males of the day and I was a part of a vocal trio that used to belt out these classics acapella in high school. A while back, I saw one of his Heritage guitars on eBay and it also came with a letter of correspondence between Gary and the builders in their custom shop. I knew it was going to be mine and, luckily, I got it. Later, Gary was playing in Louisville at the Palace Theater and I got a great seat. The show was fantastic and he was still in fine voice. What I did not know was how fine a guitar player he was. To me, that’s icing on the cake!”
