
Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, a non-profit music and mentoring program in New York City, will hold a fundraising benefit called A Little Bit of Rhythm & A Lot of Soul, December 2 at Roulette, in Brooklyn.
The event will include live music by Harsh Crowd,Jessica Pimentel of Orange Is The New Black, and others, food by Olivia Cooks for You, and a raffle with several prizes. Proceeds from the event will be used to give girls, young women, and trans youth from low- and moderate-income households in NYC the opportunity to attend Girls Rock! Camp and other programs.
The Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls (WMRC) Fairness Fund helps provide scholarships and sliding-scale tuition to more than half of its campers, and offers community-/school-based programs free to participants. For further info, go to williemaerockcamp.org.
