Taylor Guitars Fall Limited Edition Grand Auditorium, Grand Symphony, Grand Concert and Dreadnought shapes, as well as 12-fret and baritone eight-string models have backs and sides made of quilted sapele, flatsawn and lightly stained, then paired with European spruce tops. Appointments include the company’s Solitaire diamond fret inlays, sapele and Ivoroid rosette, Ivoroid binding, and a Venetian cutaway.
Taylor’s Macassar Fall Limited Presentation Series have a “sinker” redwood top, ebony binding with a contoured armrest, paua inlays and top trim, and CV interior bracing. The 400 Series have sides and backs of Tasmanian blackwood. A cousin of Hawaiian koa, blackwood boasts a similar tone profile. Each has a three-piece back with maple mini-wedge and topped by Western Red cedar, while the Baritone Limited has a Sitka top. All have maple fretboard inlays, a new fishbone rosette, satin-finish back and sides, and a Venetian cutaway.
